Expressive Writing Dalam Menurunkan Kecemasan Sosial Pada Mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Makassar
Abstract
Social anxiety can be bad for students because it can interfere psychologically, and physically so expressive writing is needed. This study aims to determine whether expressive writing can reduce social anxiety in Universitas Negeri Makassar students. The participants in this study amounted to 12 participants who were divided into two groups, namely 6 experimental groups and 6 control groups. This study used a true experimental design with participants placed by random assignment. Based on the results of the Mann-Whitney (U) test, it was found that there was a significant difference in student social anxiety in the experimental group (Mdn = -15.5), with the control group (Mdn = -3.00), U = 0.00; p < 0.05; r 1.00. Therefore, it can be said that expressive writing intervention reduces social anxiety in participants. The model used was a pretest-posttest control group design. The social anxiety scale in this study has a reliability value of 0.809. The implication of this research is that expressive writing can be given to reduce social anxiety in students who experience social anxiety.
