Who’s at Risk? Exploring the Impact of Family Status and Gender on Suicidal Ideation in Adolescents

Angka kasus bunuh diri pada remaja dan angka perceraian di Indonesia menunjukkan tren yang meningkat, namun penelitian yang secara komprehensif membandingkan secara langsung ide bunuh diri antara remaja yang berasal dari keluarga utuh dan keluarga bercerai dan variabel gender dalam konteks Indonesia dengan ukuran sampel besar masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur keluarga dan gender sebagai prediktor munculnya ide bunuh diri pada remaja. Responden penelitian ini berjumlah 1.496 remaja berusia 12–19 tahun, berjenis kelamin laki-laki dan perempuan, serta berasal dari keluarga utuh dan keluarga bercerai. Ide bunuh diri diukur dengan menggunakan salah satu item Children Depression Inventory yang berkaitan dengan bunuh diri, struktur keluarga diungkap melalui pertanyaan demografi tentang status perkawinan orang tua, dan gender diungkap dengan pertanyaan demografi tentang jenis kelamin partisipan. Hasil analisis Multinomial Logistic Regression menunjukkan bahwa remaja dari keluarga bercerai memiliki ide bunuh diri yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dari keluarga utuh. Remaja perempuan memiliki ide bunuh diri yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan remaja laki-laki. Hasil analisis model menunjukkan bahwa model hanya menjelaskan 10.6% variasi dalam data ide bunuh diri sehingga masih perlu dilakukan penelitian lanjutan tentang faktor yang memengaruhi ide bunuh diri di luar struktur keluarga dan gender.
