The Relationship between Self Regulation and Impulsive Buying Online Games Item in Early Adulthood
Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between self-regulation and impulsive buying of items in online games. The research data obtained from 115 respondents were online game players and 89 had made purchases of online game items. The sampling technique used in this study is non-probability with the accidental sampling method. This study uses a scale of self-regulation and impulsive buying with the results of data analysis correlation r = -0.139 (p < .01) using Spearman's rho. This shows that there is a significant negative relationship between self-regulation and impulsive buying of items in online games during early adulthood, which means that the higher a person's self-regulation, the lower the impulsive buying behavior. This suggests that self-regulation has an important role for online game players in early adulthood to restrain shopping behavior.
