STRATEGI DAYA TARIK WISATA MEMORIAL JEMBATAN MERAH SURABAYA
Abstract
The objectives of this study are

) to identify memorials related to the events of
Jembatan Merah Surabaya as triggers of the November 10 1945 battle,
(2
) to produce the
Jembatan Merah Surabaya memorial tourist attraction strategy. The method used is a
phenomenological approach, which does not place objectivity as important, but rather emphasizes
the depth of understanding subjectively through knowledge of informants. So as to produce a
tourist attraction strategy of the Jembatan Merah Surabaya memorial to increase the number of
tourist visits to Surabaya City. The results obtained were

)There were 31 cultural reserves as
a memorial that triggered the battle of November 10, 1945, which consisted of 11
buildings, 11 sites and 9 neighborhoods at the peak of the heroic struggle of the people of
Surabaya and successfully killed Brigadier General Mallaby in the area around the
Jembatan Merah site,

)The strategy of memorial attraction for Jembatan Merah Surabaya is: a.
Introduction and Promotion of built heritages sites Jembatan Merah Surabaya through the
Tourism Information Center
(TIC
), b. Embed Surabaya's heroic historical values through memorial
tours, c. Preserving existing cultural preservation, d. Hold a historical river tour event with routes
from Petekan Bridge to Pemuda Bridge
(near Gubeng Pojok
). This route commemorates the peak of
Arek-arek Suroboyo's heroic struggle in the struggle of November 10, 1945 and the place where
Brigadier General Mallaby was killed.
