Abstract

  1. XYZ is a concrete production company that offers a range of concrete products, such as Masonry Concrete, Ready-Mix Concrete, and Precast Concrete. The company's smooth production process heavily relies on its suppliers for raw materials. However, issues can arise if suppliers encounter delays in delivering these crucial resources. Between September 2022 and February 2023, the supplier's operational area experienced heavy rainfall, affecting the extraction of raw materials like sand and crushed stone from natural sources. Sourcing these materials became challenging, potentially leading to delivery delays. Moreover, the considerable distance between the supplier and the company further contributed to these delays. To address this problem, researchers developed a scoring system as a solution. Each supplier is assigned a weight and score based on relevant criteria, reflecting their performance and reliability in fulfilling orders promptly. Armed with the supplier's score, the company can now schedule raw material orders accordingly. This system allows the company to utilize all available suppliers but adjust the order quantities based on each supplier's score. The study's findings demonstrate that the company can select reliable suppliers with certainty, mitigating risks associated with late deliveries. By implementing the scoring system, PT. XYZ no longer needs to worry about delays in receiving raw materials, ensuring the smooth continuation of its production process.
