Mekanika: Jurnal Teknik Mesin accepts conceptual articles or research results including:

  3. Combustion and Energy Systems
  4. Design and Manufacturing
  5. Dynamics and Control
  6. Materials Science and Engineering
  7. Vibrations
  8. Acoustics and Fluid-Structure Interaction

 

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts received by Mekanika: Jurnal Teknik Mesin will be reviewed through several stages:

  1. The sent manuscript will be evaluated whether it has conformity with the journal template, purpose and scope of the journal, and the methodology used (rejected if it does not meet the criteria)
  2. The submitted manuscript must be free of plagiarism content, the maximum limit of similarity is 25%. The script will be rejected if the similarity is high, however, the author will be asked for clarification if the similarity is low.
  3. The submitted manuscript will be reviewed by at least two peer reviewers. Reviewers do not know the identity of the author, and the author does not know the identity of the reviewer (double-blind review method). A review of the manuscript will pay attention to the novelty of the writing, the theory used, the method used, the results and discussion, conclusions and suggestions.
  4. Records given by reviewers will be discussed in the editor's meeting to decide whether the manuscript is rejected, requires major revisions, requires minor revisions, or is accepted.
  5. If the decision is a revision, the author will be contacted to revise the text and must be returned to the editor without delay. Returned more than three months will be considered as a new shipment.
  6. After the manuscript has been revised by the author and returned to the editor, the editor will make the final decision.

 

Publication Frequency

Mekanika: Jurnal Teknik Mesin published by Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya, are scheduled for publication two times a year, in July and December.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Journal History

Mekanika: Jurnal Teknik Mesin was first published in 2015. At first the mekanika journal received the results of mechanical research in general and published two times a year. Starting in 2015, Mekanika: Jurnal Teknik Mesin is devoted as a forum for publications for researchers who have conducted research in the fields of mechanical engineering. Starting in 2015 this journal will only be published two a year, on July and December. This journal gives readers access to download journal entries in pdf file format.

 

References Management

Writing citations and references must refer to the Mendeley application in writing citations and references.

 

Manuscript Withdrawal

Withdrawing submitted or published manuscripts is not recommended. If the writer intends to retract the manuscript, the following rules must be followed:

  1. Manuscripts may only be withdrawn for acceptable reasons. Must not withdraw the manuscript because it has been published in another journal.
  2. The author must make a letter requesting withdrawal of the manuscript to the chief editor, along with the reasons for withdrawal. Requests for withdrawal of the manuscript must know all the authors, evidenced by the signature.
  3. If the manuscript being withdrawn is in the process of being reviewed, the writer must pay 000 (IDR)
  4. If the manuscript being withdrawn has been published, the writer must pay 000 (IDR)
  5. If the review process of the manuscript is more than 6 months, the writer can withdraw the manuscript without having to pay a fine.

 

Retraction Policies

Mekanika: Jurnal Teknik Mesin will be considered to retract in the publication if :

  1. They have clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of misconduct (e.g. data fabrication) or honest error (e.g. miscalculation or experimental error)
  2. The findings have previously been published elsewhere without proper cross-referencing, permission or justification (i.e. cases of redundant publication)
  3. It constitutes plagiarism
  4. It reports unethical research

The mechanism of retraction follows the Retraction Guidelines of COPE Retraction Guidelines

 

Fees

No fees incurred for article processing, submission, neither reviewing the articles.

Under the aforementioned condition, we are waiving in full for authors from developing countries should they need to submit papers to Mekanika: Jurnal Teknik Mesin.
