HUKUMAN MATI BAGI PARA PELAKU TINDAK PIDANA KORUPSI
Abstract
Penegakan hukum di Indonesia selama ini masih dianggap lemah dan tidak membawa efek jera terhadap para
pelaku tindak pidana korupsi. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan melihat UNDANG-UNDANG REPUBLIK
INDONESIA NOMOR 31 TAHUN 1999 TENTANG PEMBERANTASAN TINDAK PIDANA KORUPSI,
Indonesia masih menjatuhkan hukuman berupa penjara paling lama 20 tahun dan denda maksimal Rp.
1.000.000.000,00 (satu milyar rupiah). Dimana seharusnya ada hukuman yang kuat dan membawa efek jera
bahkan membawa rasa takut untuk melakukan tindak pidana korupsi di Indonesia. Ada beberapa negara
yang menjatuhi para pelaku tindak pidana korupsi dengan hukuman yang bisa di bilang sangat cukup untuk
membuat efek jera dan rasa takut untuk melakukan tindak pidana korupsi, negara itu adalah negara Korea
Utara. Pada negara para pelaku di jatuhi hukuman mati. Hal ini yang menjadi dasar pandangan saya bahwa
hukuman mati untuk para pelaku tindak pidana korupsi perlu di terapkan di Indonesia agar terwujudnya
Ketetapan Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat Republik Indonesia Nomor XI/MPR/1998 tentang
Penyelenggara Negara yang Bersih dan Bebas Korupsi, Kolusi, dan Nepotisme.
