Abstract

he Faculty of Law currently does not stand in humanities or social affairs. Faculty of law is sui generis law. As a result of its specialty, the Faculty of Law actually does not have a study program and the legal division should not exist, but in the development of science specificity is needed in a science. Such legal issues make it difficult for the Law Faculty to conduct Tri Dharma in accordance with the Guide to Research and Community Service Edition XII 2018, which is published by the Directorate of Research and Community Service, Directorate General of Research and Development Strengthening Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. By using normative research that is by examining library material with a legislative and conceptual approach. It was found that the Law Faculty had to break away from the exclusive nature that emphasized normative or empirical legal research. Orthodox research cannot be a counterweight to modern legal research. Legal research must 275 explore the mixed methods and prioritize interpretations so that the highest legal objectives are achieved, namely legal justice.
