Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of peer conformity and task aversiveness on academic procrastination in high school students. Academic procrastination is the tendency to postpone schoolwork, which impacts academic achievement. This study used a quantitative correlational method with a non-probability sampling technique on 260 students in grades X and XI. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. The results showed that peer conformity (t = 5.025; p < 0.001) and task aversiveness (t = 3.707; p < 0.001) had a significant influence on academic procrastination, both simultaneously and partially. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.205) indicates that both variables contributed 20.5% to academic procrastination. This finding indicates that the higher the conformity and task aversiveness, the greater the tendency of students to engage in academic procrastination.

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran konformitas teman sebaya dan task aversiveness terhadap prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa SMA. Prokrastinasi akademik merupakan kecenderungan untuk menunda tugas-tugas sekolah yang berdampak pada pencapaian akademik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional dengan teknik non-probability sampling pada 260 siswa kelas X dan XI. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konformitas teman sebaya (t = 5,025; p < 0,001) dan task aversiveness (t = 3,707; p < 0,001) memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap prokrastinasi akademik, baik secara simultan maupun parsial. Nilai koefisien determinasi (R² = 0,205) menunjukkan bahwa kedua variabel menyumbang 20,5% terhadap prokrastinasi akademik. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi konformitas dan task aversiveness maka semakin besar kecenderungan siswa melakukan prokrastinasi akademik.
