Elsains: Jurnal Elektro is a journal published by the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya. The research articles submitted to this online journal will undergo a double-blind peer review process, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other. Each manuscript is evaluated independently by at least two qualified reviewers who are not affiliated with the authors, ensuring an objective and unbiased assessment. The accepted research articles will be available online following the journal’s peer-reviewing process. The language used in this journal is Indonesian or English.
For plagiarism checking, Elsains: Jurnal Elektro editors will manually and electronically screen manuscripts (Title, Abstract, and Body Text) using both offline and online databases, as well as several plagiarism detection tools (Turnitin and CrossCheck). If any indication of plagiarism is found, the editorial board will immediately reject the manuscript.
Submission: The editor receives the manuscript from the authors.
Initial Evaluation (1–2 weeks): The editor checks whether the manuscript meets the journal’s aims and scope, follows the submission guidelines, and includes all required supplementary data. Manuscripts that do not comply with these criteria will be rejected at this stage.
Plagiarism Screening (1 week): The editor conducts plagiarism checks using offline and online databases as well as plagiarism detection tools (Turnitin and CrossCheck). Manuscripts with significant plagiarism will be rejected immediately, while those with minor similarity may be returned to the author for clarification.
Reviewer Assignment (1 week): The editor assigns the manuscript to at least two qualified reviewers for a double-blind peer review, ensuring that both author and reviewer identities remain confidential.
Peer Review Process (4–6 weeks): Reviewers independently evaluate the manuscript for originality, scientific quality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Reviewers submit their recommendations (accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject) along with detailed comments.
Editorial Decision (1 week): The editor reviews the feedback and makes an initial decision: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject.
Revision by Author (2–8 weeks): If revisions are required, authors must revise the manuscript according to the reviewers’ and editor’s comments and resubmit within the specified period. A revised manuscript submitted later than three months will be treated as a new submission.
Final Decision and Confirmation (1 week): The editor reviews the revised version and issues the final decision. Once accepted, the manuscript proceeds to the production stage for publication.
Estimated total review time: Approximately 8–12 weeks under normal circumstances, depending on reviewer availability and the extent of revisions required.
