Abstract
Safety is the main goal in every fire. For example, in house buildings when a fire occurs and there is no early warning and automatic fire suppression owned by the occupants of the house, so it will cause casualties and considerable material losses. Some of the factors that cause fires that occur most commonly encountered are electrical short circuits, household appliances such as stoves, candles, etc. One way to prevent this is to use fire detection and suppression devices equipped with sms gateways. The research approach used is experimental research, Experiments are modifications to conditions carried out deliberately and controlled in determining events or events, as well as ending changes that occur in the event itself . In this approach, designing and developing microntroller-based fire detection and extinguishing devices equipped with SMS Gateway notifications with Batteries, then conducting experiments on the designed tools, and analyzing the work of the tool to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the system. The results of this study are in the form of a fire detection prototype equipped with a microcontroller-based extinguisher with batteries. In the tool made there is a flame sensor that functions to detect the presence of fire, the mq2 sensor that functions to detect the presence of smoke in a room, the DHT22 sensor functions as a room temperature meter, and GSM SIM800L functions to send sms notifications if a fire occursIt can be concluded from the flame sensor test can detect fire distances of 10cm – 100cm with an angle of 0 ° - 45 ° and from the mq2 sensor testing it can be concluded that the sensitivity distance of the MQ2 sensor at a distance of 5 cm data Threshold 193. At a distance of 10 cm data Threshold 173. At a distance of 15 cm data Threshold 168. At a distance of 20 cm data Threshold 165. At a distance of 25 cm data Threshold 160. From the Threshold data obtained, it shows that when the farther the smoke distance, the thresold value gets smaller.
