A Design and Implementation of an SMS-Based Parking Security System Integrating RFID, PIR, and Ultrasonic Sensors
A Reliable and Real-Time Solution for Enhancing Vehicle Parking Security
Abstract
Motor vehicle theft remains a serious issue within campus environments. This study aims to design a parking security system based on the Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller, integrating RFID, PIR, and ultrasonic sensors to enhance vehicle safety. The system is equipped with multiple authentication layers and automatic SMS notifications using the GSM SIM800L module. It can send warning messages within an average of 4.3–5 seconds, detect vehicle loss within 5 seconds, and authenticate users in 0.45–0.84 seconds. The results show that an integrated sensor-based and microcontroller-controlled security system can serve as an effective, efficient, and economical solution for improving vehicle parking security.
