Abstract
An expert system is a computer-based system that uses knowledge, facts, and reasoning techniques to solve problems that can only be solved by an expert. Allergies are an abnormal response of the immune system. People who have allergies have an immune system that reacts to a substance that is usually harmless in the environment. Limitations in this study there are four causes of allergies, namely, seafood allergy, dust allergy, cow's milk allergy, pet allergy, food allergy in adults, facial skin allergy in adults and cold allergy in adults. In designing this expert system, it is a system used to diagnose allergic diseases in children. The diagnosis process begins with the user answering questions in the form of symptoms suffered by the user. The inference method used is forward chaining. Forward chaining is a search technique that starts with known facts and then is matched using the IF-Then rule. The stages of the development of this system start from designing Entity Relationship Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams and Flowcharts, its development using the PHP programming language, and MySQL database, also in development based on the waterfall model. The conclusions obtained from the results of this study include an expert system application that is designed to be able to diagnose allergic diseases in children and adults based on the symptoms inputted by health workers.
