Abstract
The island of Java, which is inhabited by more than 60% of Indonesia's population, has no less than 25 volcanoes. In East Java, one of the most active volcanoes is Mount Semeru, which is located in two areas, namely Lumajang Regency and Malang Regency. Mount Semeru erupted on Monday, December 20, 2021. This eruption was recorded on a seismograph with a maximum amplitude of 11 mm and a duration of 433 seconds. The problems that arise are the destruction of residential areas and the loss of land for the relocation of the Semeru APG relocation located in Sumbermujur Village, Candipuro District, Lumajang Regency. Temporary shelter (huntara) is a temporary residence while disaster victims evacuate, either in the form of mass shelters or families, or individually. The purpose of the temporary shelter was to secure the refugees by keeping them away from the disaster area. The shelter building which includes almost all of its facilities and infrastructure is non-permanent to emphasize its function as a place to live during the transition period. This researcher uses qualitative research methods. The qualitative research method was chosen because this method is in accordance with the needs of the data to be collected in the field, namely by collecting primary data by observing the APG Semeru relocation house, conducting observations, and studying similar literature. determined, namely the NGO Banser Begana and NGO Pramuka Peduli.
