Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between grit and academic resilience in high school students in Surabaya. The problem in this study focuses on the extent to which students' perseverance and consistency (grit) affect their ability to bounce back from academic pressure (academic resilience). This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The participant selection technique used is incidental sampling or accidental sampling with a total of 290 high school students from various regions in Surabaya. The research instruments consist of a Grit scale and an Academic Resilience scale. The assumption test results show that the data is not normally distributed, so data analysis is performed using Spearman's Rho correlation technique. Based on the analysis results, a correlation value of r = 0.542 with a significance of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05) was obtained, indicating a positive and highly significant relationship between Grit and academic resilience. The effective contribution of Grit to academic resilience was 29%. This means that the higher the perseverance and consistency of students, the higher their ability to cope with academic pressure.
